I am a political and historical sociologist studying US politics, conservative media, and democratization and democratic fragility.

My dissertation research conceptualizes and analyzes the historical development of a little-studied form of conservative media that I call Christian Right broadcasting.

Before coming to Harvard, I worked as a social worker in Philadelphia and as a journalist in Central America.
